Plot:

First film of the hugely successful TV series "The X-Files". Mulder & Scully investigate the bombing of a Dallas building, only to discover it is just one aspect of a new mystery that revolves around a young boy infected with a new and far more dangerous strain of the 'black cancer' - a lethal virus of extra-terrestrial origin that they have encountered before. Soon both the FBI agents lives are in danger as the group of co-conspirators, who've been controlling the truth about alien existence for over fifty years, suddenly step up their secret agenda - but even they may not be able to stop events unfolding. What are the conspirators plans? Who are they working with? What is the nature of this new form of the virus? What are the mysterious domes standing in the vast cornfields of the Midwest? Who is the mysterious Conrad Strughold or the slightly neurotic Dr. Kurtzweil? And how does all of this tie into a secret buried deep under the Antartic ice?

Budget

$60 Million, Opening Weekend Gross - $30.1 Million Total Gross - $78.2 million (at 5 wks)

20th July 1998

So how do you get people to buy a video copy of a film they've already seen? Why just add 3-4 minutes of extra footage of say a grass field or a ice landscape and repackage it as a 'special edition'. Not officially confirmed, 'Brian' and other sources mention today that the video release will apparently contain footage not in the theatrical release - most likely the excised stuff relating to Mulder's sister.

Well, I am in the middle of creating a Fight the Future picutre page, so bear with me! For those of you who visit this page ofter, you know I am busy with it!
